Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) had a phone call with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Acting Administrator Pete Gaynor this afternoon, urging the department to act on Governor Mike Parson’s request for a disaster declaration for the 13 counties in Missouri impacted by severe flooding. The Governor sent this request over three weeks ago and the Missouri delegation has urged the administration’s support.
Senator Hawley issued the following statement minutes ago:
Just spoke w/ FEMA Acting Director about emergency assistance in NW Mo. This process has gone on too long. FEMA needs to approve relief now. And Democrats need to quit stalling and support disaster relief bill we’ve been fighting to get for months. Missourians need help now
