Hawley Introduces Bill to Provide Immediate Direct Relief to All Individuals and Families

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced the introduction of the Emergency Direct Payments for Families and Workers Act to provide a second round of stimulus checks to qualifying Americans. Senator Hawley’s bill would provide a one-time payment of $1,200 to individuals, $2,400 to couples filing jointly, and $500 per child. Eligibility standards and income thresholds are exactly the same as the CARES Act passed in March.

Hawley, Sanders Introduce $1,200 Direct Payments Amendment to End-of-Year Legislation

U.S. Senators Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) introduced a bipartisan amendment to must-pass legislation to be considered by Congress providing immediate direct payments to working-class Americans. Like the CARES Act, which passed Congress unanimously and was signed into law by President Trump, the amendment would provide a $1,200 direct payment for all adults and $500 per child.

Hawley Blasts McKinsey for Proposed Bounties on Opioid Overdoses
