Senator Hawley Continues to Hold VA Accountable for Jefferson Barracks Construction Delays

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) sent a letter to Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) Robert Wilkie requesting an update on the construction status of the new outpatient clinic building at the St. Louis VA Medical Center-Jefferson Barracks. In August, Secretary Wilkie told Senator Hawley that construction on the St. Louis VA Medical Center-Jefferson Barracks would be completed by the end of 2019, followed by an activation period of approximately 6 months.

Senator Hawley Continues to Demand Answers from FEMA and Army Corps of Engineers as Flood Season Approaches

Today U.S. Senator Josh Hawley sent letters to the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to ask what is being done to prepare for the upcoming flood season. In his letters, Senator Hawley asks for responses to a list of questions on a range of topics, including transparency in FEMA’s Individual Assistance program, the Corps’ preparations for existing levee breaches, and what plans are being made to improve flood control and disaster relief in the future.
